MTA Empowers Young Entrepreneurs

MTA recently kicked off MTA LEAD, its one-of-a-kind entrepreneurship program for Juniors and Seniors. The program is designed to empower talmidim with the ability to build on their entrepreneurial ideas and create meaningful and sustainable business projects, while gaining lasting business and communal leadership skills. Talmidim are mentored by Dean Michael Strauss, Associate Dean and Professor at Sy Syms School of Business, and MTA parent Mr. Laizer Kornwasser, and also learn from expert guest speakers in the business industry throughout the semester, as they create their own business plans. The program welcomed its first speaker, Mr. Oliver Mitchell, on Wednesday, February 3rd. Mr. Mitchell is a Venture Partner at FF Venture Capital, a New York based firm with 90+ portfolio companies and $200 million under management. He is also the Founding Partner at Autonomy Ventures, a venture syndicate focused on early stage investments in business and industrial automation technologies, including robotics, smart mobility, remote sensing and artificial intelligence. He shared industry tips and strategies to help talmidim learn, as they develop their own business ventures. Thanks to Junior student leaders Josh Berkowitz, Akiva Boyarsky, and Max Korenman, for spearheading this initiative.
