Attention Einstein Community and Kennedy Center Occupants,

THE Kennedy Center Network Outage  Until OCT 12th 12:15am – 6 PM

On Sat Oct 12th 2013  from 12:15am until 6pm there will be an outage of all network services in the Kennedy Center.  The wired and wireless networks will be unavailable during this time.  Users will not be able to use their systems to connect to the internet nor the intranet(internal Einstein network).  Systems located in the Kennedy center will not be reachable via the network from within the building or campus/internet environment.   This outage will affect all devices using the network this includes desktops, laptops, servers, Ipads/iphones, tablets, smartphones and VOIP Phones.   Any automated data feeds or connections to or from devices in the Kennedy Center will be unavailable  during this time.  It is not anticipated that users will need to power off or otherwise make any changes to their devices as part of this outage. However please contact ITS if there are any questions by contacting the helpdesk at helpdesk@yu.edu .

This outage is necessary for ITS to complete needed repairs and upgrades to the networking infrastructure in the Kennedy Center.  ITS will be replacing the building switch which will configure itself in an automated manner over the course of the outage. During the outage users may experience the network going up and down over the course of the day.  This is to be expected.  ITS will notify the community when the service has been restored to production services levels.
