In order to build a more stable and robust Email (Outlook/Exchange) System, we need to perform a number of maintenance activities on the underlying Hardware and Software Environment over the coming weeks. One of the maintenance activities will be completed this coming Thursday, April 3rd between 8:00pm and 10:00pm.  We are not anticipating an outage of longer than 15 – 30 minutes, but you may find that you receive a pop-up message asking you to log out and then back in to send and receive your mail.  During this time access to email via OWA may be intermittent.

After this maintenance is completed, individuals who have an Einstein email address with the domain @einstein.yu.edu and use an active sync device such as (Iphone, Ipad, Android device,…) should check the device configuration and verify that the Exchange Server entry is set to owa.einstein.yu.edu.  If you are unsure of how to check this, please contact the Helpdesk.

To minimize disruptions to you we recommend logging out of Outlook/Exchange and/or OWA at the end of the business day tomorrow Thursday April 3rd and shutting down your PC if you do not access it remotely.  In actuality, powering off your desktop is also a good energy conservation measure.
