A Virtual Tour of the YU Museum

In honor of Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel’s 72nd Independence Day, which fell on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, the Yeshiva University Museum posted a virtual exploration of the exhibition “From A(gam) to Z(aritsky): Highlights of Israeli Art from Yeshiva University’s Collection,” led by Tablet’s Liel Leibovitz, beginning with the “godfather” of Israeli art, Boris Schatz. “Under normal circumstances,” Dr. Jacob Wisse, director of the YU Museum, “I'd be welcoming people to our beautiful home at the Center for Jewish History. But I'm no less pleased to provide people with a virtual ‘taste’ of one of our current exhibitions, one that demonstrates the dynamic tension between the Jewish homeland and a modern nation engaged with the world. I hope to see people in person soon at the Museum, but in the meantime, I hope that you are staying safe and finding inspiration in beautiful things at home.”
