He will be leading seminars, mentoring students, lecturing in our community, and writing about his experiences of promoting Israel and the Jewish people in the United Nations and throughout the world. This appointment reflects Yeshiva University’s commitment to provide our students with the highest level of insight and instruction to shape their development as leaders of tomorrow. “Ambassador Danon exemplifies YU’s core values. He is a champion of the Jewish people, and his strong leadership will be a role model to our students and community,” said Dr. Ari Berman, President Yeshiva University. “I am honored and excited to work with my colleagues at Yeshiva University,” said Ambassador Danon. “One of my main objectives will be to strengthen relations between Israel and the rest of the world. Connected to this will be attention to the global fight against anti-Semitism.” Ambassador Danon and YU have a distinguished history together as he delivered the keynote address at the University’s 87th Commencement in 2018 and received an honorary degree. He also participated in a featured presentation for our 96th Annual Hanukkah Dinner on Dec. 6. “Ambassador Danon brings to YU his track record of diplomatic success and coalition building on the world stage, and we are excited to welcome him to YU,” said Dr. Selma Botman, provost and vice president for academic affairs.
