An Inside Look at Executive Leadership

2011 Kukin Lecture Series features CEO of J. Crew, former Chairman and CEO of American Express and President and CEO of PBS Thirteen, among Other Captains of Industry Beginning in February, Yeshiva University students will have the unique opportunity to hear from and interact with todays most influential and successful business leaders, entrepreneurs, trailblazers and innovators from top companies around the world as part of the annual Doris and Dr. Ira Kukin Entrepreneurial and Executive Lecture Series hosted by YU’s Sy Syms School of Business (SSSB). The series begins on February 4 and runs every Friday until May 6 at YU’s Manhattan campus, Yagoda Commons, 215 Lexington, New York City. httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnV0eaqPEC8 Speakers include: Millard Drexler, CEO of J. Crew; James D.  Robinson III, General Partner of RRE Ventures, former Chairman and CEO of American Express; Neal Shapiro, President and CEO of PBS Thirteen/WNET; Joseph Shenker, Chairman of Sullivan & Cromwell; Marc Spector, Principal of Spector Group; Josh Weston, Honorary Chairman and Former CEO, Automatic Data Processing; Nadine McHugh, Managing Partner of Mindshare; Victor Alhadeff, CEO of Boost eLearning LLC; Michelle Stein, Managing Director at Neuberger Berman; Michael Gamson, Former Senior Partner at Vitol Energy Trading; and Marcy Syms, Chief Executive Officer and President and Chairman of the Board of Syms Corp. "It is an honor to impart the lessons I have learned as I built my career with the students who will be tomorrow's business leaders," said Spector. "These tips are especially helpful as the undergrads head out into this challenging economic climate. Knowing how to best position yourself for success is vital now more than ever before." Past speakers include Izzy Borovich (El Al), Warren Eisenberg (Bed, Bath and Beyond), Howard Jonas (IDT), Sumner Redstone (Viacom), Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Ivan Seidenberg (Verizon), Fred Wilpon (NY Mets), and Jeffrey Swartz (Timberland) among other luminaries. “This unique undergraduate series offers students an invaluable opportunity to learn from the leaders of Fortune 500 companies and other captains of business and industry,” said Michael Ginzberg, dean of SSSB. “Each of our speakers will share insights about contemporary issues and challenges in business leadership, management and entrepreneurship in their respective fields.
