Crain's, JTA, and World Jewish Digest Publish Recent Articles About Yeshiva University's Growth

Aug 5, 2008 -- Four stories appeared recently in the print and online media about Yeshiva University. They feature YU's progress and its recent achievements in raising funds. Commenting on our banner fundraising year, President Richard M. Joel said: "The rest of the story is yet to be written. We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our philanthropic partners, but as we are all aware, our needs—and the cost to fulfill them—are high, and it is only with greater participation that our progress can continue. We are confident it will.” - The JTA released "Joel, YU Report Record Haul.” The reporter shadowed the President for a full day during the spring semester. - A popular online blog, JTA’s “The Fundermentalist,” posted an article, “YU Takes Aim at a Recession-Proof Billion-Dollar Campaign,” devoted to YU’s successful fundraising year and trends in academic fund-raising, largely based on a discussion with Dan Forman, Vice President for Institutional Advancement. - World Jewish Digest published “The Middle Man,” a lengthy, detailed interview with President Joel in their August issue, in which he discusses YU’s achievements, challenges, and the Jewish future. - An article appeared in this week’s New York Crain’s entitled “Local Universities Report Banner Fundraising Year” that features NYU and Yeshiva University as two local universities that reported upswings in donations this year. (We heard it was one of the top 10 most read articles in Crain’s this week.)
