Karen Bacon, currently the Dean of Yeshiva College and Stern College for Women, is being named Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at Yeshiva University. Dean Bacon will move into this new position after a replacement is found through a national search. In her new position, Dean Bacon will work closely with the Provost, the Deans, and the Directors to further strengthen academic affairs and student life at YU. "I thank Dean Bacon for her decades of service as Dean and believe that in this transformational moment in Yeshiva University’s history, she will play an invaluable role in helping guide the University to even greater success in the twenty-first century,” said Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, President of Yeshiva University. “We look forward to celebrating Dean Bacon’s achievements at our upcoming Hanukkah Dinner in which we will celebrate Stern College’s 70th anniversary." “Over the years, Dean Bacon has built an extraordinary liberal arts and sciences college at Stern College for Women, and more recently lent her considerable skills to bolstering Yeshiva College,” said Selma Botman, YU Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. “I am delighted that Dean Bacon will be joining the Provost’s Office.
