  • Neer Asherie, professor of physics and biology at Yeshiva University, conducted the workshop, “Rational Response: An Introduction to the Mathematics of Epidemics Math for America,” which demonstrated how mathematics can help epidemiologists make better public health decisions during the pandemic.
  • Marissa Barrera, director of the Speech-Language Pathology program, spoke at the invitation of GSBE Global Academy on “The Clinical Application of Ultrasound for the Rehabilitation of Swallowing.” She also spoke on “Advances in Treatment of Speech & Swallowing Disorders for Persons With Multiple Sclerosis” as part of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation: Expert Teleconference Series.
  • Christine Brennan, instructor in Biotechnology Management and Entrepreneurship and vice president of clinical research at Northwell, appeared on 60 Minutes to discuss promising COVID-19 treatments. She has 20 years of extensive clinical research experience, including over 15 years in clinical research management.
  • Elisabeth Mlawski, director of clinical education in the Speech-Language Pathology program, was appointed to the Chiang Mai University collaborative research group and recently spoke on “Assessment and Evaluation of Speech Disorders,” with Salus University Professor Robert Serianni. She also has assumed the role of faculty advisor to the National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA).
