On Monday, April 4, 2022, the Jay and Jeanie Schottenstein Honors Program at Yeshiva College welcomed Leon Cooperman as a guest of its ongoing speaker series.

Mr. Cooperman is the chairman and CEO of Omega Advisors, an investment advisory firm, and was formerly chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Speaking before the Honors students on Zoom, with Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, President of Yeshiva University, also in attendance, Mr. Cooperman shared stories about his life, career, philanthropy and life philosophy.

Following his talk, he fielded questions from the students in a lively session. Charlie Kramer ’22YC enjoyed Mr. Cooperman’s discussion, remarking, “It was impactful hearing from a successful philanthropist and businessman like Mr. Cooperman, as he shared life advice (‘Be a mensch!’) and business expertise with us.”

“It was a pleasure hearing Mr. Cooperman’s insights about his experience in the business world,” said Dr. Eliezer Schnall, director of the Honors program. “The students learned a great deal from him to apply to their personal and professional lives and we look forward to welcoming him again to speak with our students in the future.”
