Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Stern College for Women Professor Marina Holz Featured on WABC-TV Special

Dr. Marina Holz, the Doris and Dr. Ira Kukin Chair in Biology and professor of biology at Yeshiva University’s Stern College for Women, was featured in WABC-TV’s recent special, “Breast Cancer: Promising Research and Options.”

In her segment, Holz discusses the incredible advances her research has made toward finding a solution for the problem of hormone-driven cancers that develop a resistance to treatment drugs, which could affect how the disease is handled for a majority of survivors, and shares how her mother’s experience with cancer inspired her work in this area.

Stern College students Adi Berman and Sara Leora Weiner, as well as Stern post-docs Anya Alayev and Rachel Salamon, are also featured in the video.
