Mazel Tov! Azrieli Graduate School Honors the Class of 2020

On Tuesday, May 26, more than 77 faculty, friends and family gathered on Zoom honor this year’s graduates of the Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration (AGS). Dr. Rona Novick, dean of AGS, conferred 30 degrees: 19 master’s degrees in Jewish education and 11 doctoral degrees in Jewish educational leadership and innovation. (An additional 19 master’s degrees will be awarded in September.) The evening was marked by powerful words and images. Dr. Novick encouraged the graduates to embrace their responsibility as educators to touch the hearts, minds and souls of Jewish learners. A videotaped message from Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks followed her address. The inspiring words of the former Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth underscored the importance of chinuch [education] in Jewish culture. The evening celebration concluded on a high note with faculty, friends and family offering words of praise and congratulations to the Class of 2020 for a job well done.
