Dr. Yael Muskat Appointed Director of Manhattan Campuses Counseling Center Dr. Yael Muskat has been appointed director of the Yeshiva University Counseling Center for the Manhattan Campuses. For the past six years, she has served as associate director, supervising the counseling center on the Israel Henry Beren Campus, which provides services to the undergraduate women of Stern College for Women, Sy Syms School of Business and to the graduate students of YU's Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. "Under Dr. Muskat's enthusiastic and determined leadership, the Counseling Center has witnessed significant growth and developed a reputation as a warm, caring and vibrant place where students in need can easily receive help and support," said Dr. Chaim Nissel, university dean of students and former director of the Counseling Center. While providing individual therapy and supervising the psychology and psychiatry staff, Muskat has created many programs and workshops intended to de-stigmatize mental health issues and increase awareness and education about positive mental health and wellness among students and faculty. She graduated magna cum laude from Stern College in 1993, holds a master's degree in special education from Columbia University, Teachers College, and received a doctorate in clinical psychology from Long Island University, C.W. Post.  Muskat joined the Counseling Center with extensive experience as a therapist, evaluator, speaker and consultant in the court system, in special education schools, as a college instructor and in the community. "It has been an honor and privilege for me to provide assistance and support, and to promote positive mental health, to the wonderful students at Stern College and Cardozo School of Law for the past 6 years," said Muskat. "I look forward, with great excitement, to continue to support and educate students in need and to work together with the dedicated team of academic advisement, student life and student affairs at Yeshiva University Manhattan campuses."
