On the Forefront of Innovation: the Katz School Publishes Proceedings of Inaugural Symposium

The Katz School of Science and Health recently published the proceedings of its first annual Symposium on Science, Technology and Health, held on May 12, 2022. Organized by Dr. Rana Khan, founding director of the Biotechnology Management and Entrepreneurship program, the Symposium highlighted industry-leading research from 11 student teams representing Katz’s graduate programs in artificial intelligence, biotechnology management and entrepreneurship, cybersecurity, data analytics and visualization, digital media and marketing, physics, math and speech-language pathology. Dr. Paul Russo, dean of the Katz School and vice provost, described the Symposium as an “outstanding event” in which student researchers and clinicians, along with their mentors, presented an impressive body of work focused on new developments across a breadth of topics, from climate change and new cancer treatments to novel approaches for user authentication in social media.
