Psyched For Torah by Rabbi Dr. Mordechai Schiffman

On Monday, Feb. 7, 2022, Rabbi Dr. Mordechai Schiffman gave a shiur in honor of the launch of his book, Psyched for Torah: Cultivating Character and Well-Being Through the Weekly Parsha (more information can be found on Dr. Schiffman’s website and Amazon - note who offered promotional blurbs for the book.)     Titled “The Road(s) to Happiness: Jewish & Psychological Perspectives,” the shiur explored the many ways that Dr. Schiffman has been exploring about how to tie together the wisdom and lessons from the Torah and the modern discoveries from the field of psychology to create an ideal space for personal, communal and spiritual flourishing. Dr. Mordechai is an assistant professor at the Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration, an instructor at the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, the Wurzweiler School of Social Work and the Zahava and Moshael Straus Center for Torah and Western Thought.  He has been on the rabbinic staff of Kingsway Jewish Center in Brooklyn, New York, since 2011 and practices as a licensed psychologist in New York.
