AECOM Dean Nilda I. Soto Appointed by Governor Spitzer to Serve on New York State’s Minority Health Council

Nilda I. Soto, assistant dean for diversity enhancement at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, has been appointed by Governor Eliot Spitzer to serve on the New York State Minority Health Council. Ms. Soto’s term of service will be through March 2010.

Stern Professor Ladin Receives Research Fellowship from American Council of Learned Societies

Dr. J. Ladin, PhD, assistant professor of English at Stern College for Women, Yeshiva University’s undergraduate school of liberal arts and sciences for women, received a research fellowship from the American Council of Learned Societies. Ladin’s research will focus on American poetry, specifically the history of American poetry from 1850 to 1920 and the origins of modernist poetry.

Cantorial Council of America to Honor Belz’s 50th Anniversary at Annual Convention June 1-3

The Cantorial Council of America will honor the 50th anniversary of the Philip and Sarah Belz School of Jewish Music at its 44th Annual Convention June 1-3 at the Rye Town Hilton in Rye, NY.
The convention will honor graduates of the Belz School of Yeshiva University’s affiliate Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, and will also feature presentations by nationally recognized scholars, musicologists, and Belz alumni and staff.
