Ephraim Kanarfogel, E. Billi Ivry Professor of Jewish History at Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies and Stern College for Women (SCW), has been elected to the American Academy for Jewish Research (AAJR), the oldest organization of Judaic scholars in North America.
Allan W. Wolkoff, M.D., professor of medicine and of anatomy & structural biology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, will receive the 2006 Distinguished Service Award presented by the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) at its annual meeting this October.

Yeshiva University’s affiliated Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary will celebrate advanced Torah scholarship by paying tribute to its four distinguished roshei kollel at a dinner on Wednesday evening, May 5, 2004. The Eitz Chaim (Tree of Life) Award, the highest honor RIETS can bestow, will be presented at the dinner to Jewish communal leader Carmi Schwartz.
