Liise-anne Pirofski, MD, professor of medicine, microbiology and immunology, and Mitrani Professor of Biomedical Research at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, has been elected a fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology. The honor recognizes Dr. Pirofski’s contributions to the field of microbiology.

Einstein College of Medicine Receives Federal Funding for Its Hispanic Center of Excellence

The Hispanic Center of Excellence at YU’s Albert Einstein College of Medicine has received $562,902 in federal funding from the Department of Health and Human Services. The funding, which will be used to prepare the next generation of medical students to address the healthcare needs of Latinos throughout the New York area, was announced by Congressman Joseph Crowley (Bronx-Queens).
