Eleven fellows will assume positions in departments around campus, under a presidential initiative to train YU graduates for leadership roles in Jewish communal life.
Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor urged graduates of Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law to pursue careers in public service in a commencement address she delivered June 1 at the school’s 26th commencement exercises at Avery Fisher Hall. Justice O’Connor was awarded a Doctor of Laws degree by Yeshiva University at the commencement, conferred by president Richard M. Joel, in what was a first for Cardozo.
Organized and run by students, the Annual Awards Dinner of the Sy Syms School of Business honoring the 2004 graduates, was held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel. Ari Spodek, a junior, led the festivities as MC and Sy Syms, founder of the school and Bernard Madoff, chairman of the board, greeted students and guests.
