This Shavuot, National Synagogue of Washington, D.C. and Ahavas Torah of Silver Spring, MD will offer talented young Jewish women the opportunity to serve as scholars-in-residence as part of the Women’s Leadership Initiative’s first-ever scholar-in-residence program. The Initiative, part of Yeshiva University’s Center for the Jewish Future (CJF), seeks to empower, educate and train female students of the university towards the objective of assuming professional or lay leadership roles within the Jewish community.

Bar-Ilan University Recognizes YU Chancellor Norman Lamm’s Leadership with Honorary Degree

Dr. Norman Lamm, chancellor of Yeshiva University and former president for 27 years, will receive an honorary doctorate from Bar-Ilan University in Israel on May 12 in recognition of his dynamic communal and spiritual leadership of Modern Orthodox Jewry in the United States. A distinguished rabbi, philosopher, teacher and author, Lamm will receive the degree at Bar-Ilan’s 54th Board of Trustees Meeting.

YU Advisors Cultivate Leadership Skills of High School Students from Across North America at Eimatai Retreat

High school students from across North America will develop their skills as tomorrow’s leaders at the bi-annual Eimatai Leadership Development Conference in Poyntelle, PA, on November 9-11. The gathering is an opportunity for students to discuss issues and challenges facing the Jewish community with a view to understanding how they can make a positive impact. This year’s theme will be “Citizen Jew vs. Jewish Citizen: Exploring a Dual Identity.”

Eimatai Leadership Development Conference Inspires High School Students to Take Action in Local Communities

More than 70 Jewish high school students from Seattle to New Jersey will be participating in the Eimatai Leadership Development Project conference in Miami from March 7-9. The advocacy training seminar is a biannual offering from Eimatai, a program of Yeshiva University’s Center for the Jewish Future (CJF).

Midrashiya Program in Israel Prepares Rabbis’ Wives for Leadership Roles in the Community

While their husbands pursue rabbinical studies in the YU RIETS Israel Kollel at the university’s campus in Jerusalem, a group of women now have a learning program of their own that will prepare them for their roles as community leaders. The Yeshiva University Center for the Jewish Future (CJF) launched the Midrashiya Program for the wives of rabbinical students this fall in partnership with the RIETS Israel Kollel and the Jewish Agency MASA Israel Program.
