Fencing Alumni Gather to Honor Legendary Coach Arthur Tauber and Announce Creation of Scholarship Fund

Over 130 Yeshiva University (YU) alumni and their spouses turned out on Sunday, June 22 for an emotional reunion, organized by the Office of Alumni Affairs, in honor of legendary fencing coach, Arthur Tauber. A former Olympian and war hero, Dr. Tauber served as fencing coach and physical education teacher at YU’s Yeshiva College and Stern College for Women for over 36 years.

Yeshiva University to Honor Legendary Fencing Coach Arthur Tauber

Although Yeshiva University (YU) students are more likely to be known for their Talmudic sparring, YU also has a rich history in the graceful art of fencing. In fact, one of the most successful teams in Yeshiva College sports history is the fencing team. This remarkable athletic achievement is, in large part, due to their former distinguished coach, Arthur Tauber, who will be honored by alumni at an upcoming Fencing Reunion dinner.
