Rabbi Zevulun Charlop, dean emeritus of RIETS and special advisor to the President on Yeshiva Affairs, was honored for his extraordinary achievement in Torah learning and leadership over 35 years as the seminary’s dean.

Yeshiva University’s (YU) Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS) will honor Rabbi Zevulun Charlop for his extraordinary achievement in Torah learning and leadership at its Annual Dinner of Tribute on September 17 at The Grand Hyatt in New York City. Rabbi Charlop, who served as the seminary’s dean for 35 years, is dean emeritus of RIETS and special advisor to the President on Yeshiva affairs.

Abraham Foxman, Director of the Anti-Defamation League, Addresses Graduates and Rabbi Zevulun Charlop Receives Presidential Medallion

Calling “Never Again” the 11th commandment “etched in the aftermath of Auschwitz,” Abraham Foxman—national director of the Anti-Defamation League and keynote speaker at YU’s 77th Annual Commencement Exercises Garden on May 22—exhorted the graduates gathered at the WaMu Theater in Madison Square to turn that message into a universal mandate to speak out and act against bigotry in all its forms. Foxman, a world-renowned leader in the fight against anti-Semitism received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from YU President Richard M. Joel.
