YU in Israel Offers Two Showings of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik Film 'Lonely Man of Faith'

Nov 9, 2006 -- Yeshiva University in Israel is offering a special showing of “Lonely Man of Faith: The Life and Legacy of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik,” for YU students, alumni, and friends. Two showings of the 2005 movie are scheduled: one in Jerusalem at the Begin Center Auditorium on Sunday Nov. 26 at 8 pm; and the other at the Efal Convention Center in Ramat Efal on Monday, Nov. 27 at 8 pm. Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik was arguably the most influential rabbi of the 20th Century and indisputably the intellectual leader of Modern Orthodox Judaism in the United States. This first major film biography charts his life from his beginnings as the heir to a Lithuanian Rabbinic dynasty, through his arrival in America and subsequent rise as the leading Orthodox scholar of his time. Producer/Director Ethan Isenberg will address the audience before the screening and participate in a roundtable discussion following the film. Tickets cost 45 shekels and are available in advance by calling Kla’im at 02-622-2333.
