YU Named a "Best College Value"

Yeshiva University Ranks Among Kiplinger’s 2017 Best Private Colleges Based on Academic Quality and Affordability Yeshiva University has been named to Kiplinger’s Personal Finance’s list of the Top 300 Best College Values of 2017. The rankings combine public schools, private universities and private liberal arts colleges into a single, comprehensive list. Kiplinger also ranked the top 100 best values in each category. YU earned the #37 spot on the magazine’s list of 100 best values in private universities. “This ranking is a reflection of Yeshiva University’s commitment to academic excellence and accessibility,” said Dr. Selma Botman, provost and vice president for academic affairs. “YU takes great pride in its distinguished faculty who dedicate themselves to their students' success. We also work with each student’s family to ensure that a Yeshiva education is a wise—and prudent—investment in their future.” Kiplinger’s quality measures, which are weighted more heavily than cost, include the admission rate, the percentage of students who return for sophomore year, the student-faculty ratio and the four-year graduation rate. Cost criteria include sticker price, financial aid and average debt at graduation. Unlike other rankings, which include subjective criteria in their assessments, Kiplinger restricts its analysis to measurable standards of academic quality and affordability. The complete rankings are available online and will appear in print in the February 2017 issue of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, on newsstands January 3.
