YU’s Values in Action as Students Help Those in Need

Always encouraged to give back, our students have been up to the task by volunteering for many chessed [charity] programs designed to help those in need. Recent activities included volunteering at the Grand Central Food Program mobile soup kitchen and helping DOROT deliver Thanksgiving packages to homebound elderly. Four volunteers working at the Grand Central Food Program Volunteers also held a Winter Clothing Drive and a Chanukah Toy Drive to benefit the organization Toys for Hospitalized Children and cut their hair for the Haircuts for Hope hair donation event. Four women hold their cut hair for the donation event. In addition,  students went to Room to Grow, an organization that collects items new mothers might need such as cribs, toys, bottles and so on to help organize inventory.
