Essay on Jewish laws regarding Interest published by Leonard Grunstein, Esq., Revel Board member

Grunstein_PhotoLeonard Grunstein, Esq. of Teaneck, NJ published an extensive analysis of the contemporary application of Jewish laws regarding the taking of interest. The study, which appeared in The Banking Law Journal, a highly respected professional publication, reflects Mr. Grunstein’s mastery of the intricacies of a complex area of halakhah, of the similar challenges raised by the strictures of Islamic law, and of the workings of Western economies.
Mr. Grunstein is the newest member of the Revel Board of Overseers. He and his wife, Chana Tambor Grunstein (YUHS-G '72), are generous benefactors of Yeshiva University. Their three children, Eli, Michal, and Rachel, as well as their daughter-in-law and sons-in-law, are all graduates of YU schools. In the words of Revel Dean David Berger, "Mr. Grunstein is not only a valued supporter of Revel; he personifies the intellectual ideals that Revel strives to impart.
