Exploring Esther: The Origins, Values and Power of Purim

Light-and-Shadows-Purim-Program copyOn Monday, March 10, join a cross‐disciplinary panel of Yeshiva University scholars as they discuss the interpretive history of the Book of Esther, the story of the Jews in Persian lands, and the values and meaning of Purim today. Featuring: Aaron Koller, Associate Professor of Bible, Yeshiva College and Bernard Revel Graduate School, and Assistant Dean of Yeshiva College; Yael Leibowitz, Instructor in Bible, Stern College for Women; Meir Soloveichik, Director, Straus Center for Torah and Western Thought; and Daniel Tsadik, Assistant Professor of Sephardic and Iranian Studies, Bernard Revel Graduate School. Program begins at 7pm at the Center for Jewish History. Guests are invited to visit the exhibition Light and Shadows: The Story of Iranian Jews before the program, beginning at 6:00.
