As a part of President Joel signing the American College & University President’s Climate Commitment, the Office of Energy & Sustainability (OES) began benchmarking the University’s Greenhouse Gas Emissions in 2008. Today, after three years of reporting, a 4.4% reduction in emissions from our baseline year has been achieved. The graph shown describes the university’s gradual reduction to its goal of 20% emissions reductions by 2020 and how this 4.4% reduction contributes.

Many reasons contribute to the reduction in emissions including energy efficiency initiatives, cleaner fuel usage, better equipment maintenance, cleaner commuting and even weather.
