Care Cafe Recap 3/5. I met Jason at his home; his wife was busy with their young son, and we began the interview. I was quite moved by his story, what he had witnessed, and how he felt.
Care Cafe 2-21. In an extremely powerful evening, Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University teamed up with La Colmena Community Center in Staten Island to present “Understanding DACA: Past, Present, and Future.”
Care Cafe 2-28. We were delighted to bring Angelo Cabrera, founder of the Mexican American Student Alliance, and Antelma Espejel, community mentor to Bronx parents, to The Center for Family Life in the heart of Sunset Park, Brooklyn, one of New York City’s most densely populated immigrant communities, for “Navigating the School System for Immigrant Families: Pre-k to College” Care Cafe.
Care Cafe 2-20-18. Master creative arts therapist Heidi Landis’ warmth and wit turned our quiet Riverside Memorial Chapel space into an oasis of friendly play and connection for the Care Cafe: “Rewriting Your Story: The Art of Resilience and Moving Forward.”
Regardless of the etiology of our isolation, moments of intentional connection on an affective level are important if not altogether corrective and ultimately healing. This was the idea behind Care Cafe, started at Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University.
Care Cafe, 2-12-18. Dr. Sari Skolnik, Assistant Professor at Wurzweiler School of Social work, brought her twenty years of clinical experience to Forest Hills Library for a Care Cafe presentation: “GPS for Passion: Finding Your Way to The Life You Want to Live.”
Care Cafe, 1-23-18. Wurzweiler School of Social Work PhD candidate, addiction recovery specialist, and founder of the New Jersey non-profit Balm In Gilead, Viva White visited Riverside Memorial Chapel to kick off the second of a series of Wurzweiler Care Cafes around New York City.
Care Cafe, 1-17-18. Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University was proud to present its first ever Wurzweiler Care Cafe at the Bronx Vet Center.
