Women as Leaders

This week the members of ACE (Architecture, Construction and Engineering) club had the honor of hearing from and speaking with Nily Rozic, New York Assemblywoman for the Flushing District. Ms. Rozic informed students that she became involved in public service as a teenager, and is especially passionate about the ancient Ephebic Oath, which essentially affirms that "I will leave my city better than I found it." She described the state assembly's involvement in construction and urban planning. Ms. Rozic also opened our students eyes to the challenges of being a young woman in a predominantly male workplace, and encouraged them to get involved in politics and their communities. Thank you to Mrs. Marci Karoll for coordinating this event, and to ACE Mentors Roxana Kariyannis, Kelly Smolar ('03) andEden Takhalov ('14) for joining the discussion.Women as Leaders
