STUDENT SUMMER EXPERIENCE

Juniors Eliana Steinberg and Gabriella Steinberg, twin sisters, had a unique experience while in Israel this summer. They summed it up in their own words: “Four years ago, in celebration of our Bat Mitzvah, we wanted to do a chesed project that would have a major impact. We decided to raise money for an organization that supports individuals and their families who have suffered from terrorist attacks, called “The One Family Together.” We paired up with twins in Israel, Emunah and Tal, who had lost their father in an act of terrorism, when they were just three months old. They were not as fortunate as us to have a bat mitzvah, so we used our raised funds to help them celebrate with their family and friends. This summer, we had the amazing opportunity to finally meet them.” Gabriella surprised Eliana, who she hadn’t seen for several weeks, at the One Family Together event, which hosted 700 American teens from different summer programs. “It was an incredible experience and an amazing night which brought tears and smiles to many. We will never forget it, and we hope to inspire others to do acts of kindness for all of klal Yisrael, whether it’s in Israel or America, because we are all ‘One Family’.”
