The Loss of a Dean - Dr. Carmen Ortiz Hendricks Passes Away

Dean Carmen Ortiz Hendricks

Dear Wurzweiler Family:

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Dean Carmen Ortiz Hendricks has passed away.

We have just been informed by her husband that Dr. Hendricks succumbed to cancer and passed away peacefully with her family at her side. Although we have been preparing for this eventuality, the news still comes as a shock to the whole Wurzweiler family. Froma Benerofe, Chair of the Wurzweiler Board of Overseers, sends her condolences and wants you to know that the Board is here to support the Wurzweiler community at this difficult time.

We have been informed that there will be a Wake on Wednesday, February 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. at:

Peter Jarema Funeral Home, 129 East 7th Street (between Avenue A and 1st Avenue), New York, NY 10009

A private funeral service for the family will take place the following day. Knowing the Wurzweiler community as I do, I know that we will all be here for one another during this sad time. Memorial Services for Dean Hendricks will be held at Yeshiva University, April 10, 1:00 p.m. at Belfer Hall.

Yeshiva University posted this obituary today:
